Clinical Director
Louise joined the Ark as clinical director in late 2019. Louise graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009 then worked at several small animal practices in the north of England and Scotland. In 2015, she moved to Hong Kong for three years where she worked for the S.P.C.A. doing a mixture of small animal clinical work and welfare work. Whilst there, she completed her certificate in advanced veterinary practice, with a special interest in small animal medicine.
She loves getting to know her patients and working up cases to the best possible standard. Louise has a very greedy British short haired cat called Mao Mao who she rescued while living in Hong Kong. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis, gardening and a good glass of wine.

Dr Fay Edwards BSc (Hons) BVetMed MRCVS
Fay joined the Ark in October 2012 after qualifying in 2009 from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She previously completed a biology degree at Leeds University before pursuing her veterinary career. Fay has always worked in small animal practice and enjoys all aspects of her job, particularly internal medicine. She is currently studying for her certificate in advanced small animal practice. Fay wanted to be a vet from a young age and was always trying to bring home waifs and strays and looking after injured wildlife. Outside of work she enjoys travel, spending time with her family, cooking and spinning.


Dr Sally Hardie BSc (Hons) BVSc MRCVS
Sally joined the Ark in September 2008. She graduated from the University of Liverpool with two degrees – one in veterinary science allowing her to practice as a veterinary surgeon, and another in veterinary conservation medicine. After a year in mixed practice, Sally decided small animals suited her best so she moved closer to home and started working at the Ark. She enjoys the variety of work as a first opinion vet and the feeling of being helpful to both animals and their owners. Whilst enjoying working with small animals, Sally also enjoys working with wildlife and exotic animals which lead her to jump at the opportunity of a lifetime; working in Namibia, Africa twice with the charity AfriCat, who rescue large carnivores. She was lucky enough to assist with their health checks on big cats in June 2013. Sally lives with her boyfriend and their rescue cat, Tessa. She enjoys travelling, climbing, ice skating, dancing and more recently, skiing.


Dr Mariya Ivanova BVMSci (Hons) MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Mariya joined the team in August 2021 after qualifying from the University of Surrey. She has a love for all animals and thoroughly enjoys meeting clients and assisting to the best of her ability to help their beloved pets. She loves consulting and bonding with each patient and their specific case, but equally enjoys surgery. She has a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasound diagnostic imaging.
In her spare time Mariya likes to go to the gym or head for a long country walk. She also has a little mischievous Chihuahua called Raya. Mariya loves travelling and experiencing different cultures. Currently she is learning to be fluent in Spanish.


Dr Diana Jewitt BSc BVetMed MRCVS
After graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011, Diana worked as a small animal vet in Shropshire. She then moved to Hampshire with her family and started working at the Ark in September 2016. Diana enjoys all aspects of clinical work but particularly surgery. At home she has a naughty Jack Russell Terrier called Lily and two cats called Cotton and Humbug. In her spare time she enjoys running, skiing and playing the piano.


Dr Sarah Tucker BVSc (Hons) MRCVS
Sarah joined the Ark Veterinary Practice in 1991, and enjoys both small animal medicine and surgery. She lives locally with her two children and cheeky kitten Pablo. Most of her spare time is taken up with family activities, but she also enjoys cookery, walking, gardening and following the progress of Liverpool FC.


Emily Whiting
Veterinary Surgeon
Emily graduated from Edinburgh University in 2015 and spent 6 years as a farm animal vet working both in Devon and then her home town of Winchester. She also spent a few years of that teaching farm animal studies to veterinary students at the University of Surrey.
In January 2022 she joined the Ark as a small animal vet and is really enjoying getting to know the clients and their pets.
In her spare time she loves walking in the South Downs with her husband and their fluffy springer spaniel Ted and watching cricket all summer long.
